I had an interesting and I’ll admit funny revelation as I watched JERSEY BOYS at Paris Las Vegas recently. Yours truly +1 were invited guests of BASE Entertainment to attend a performance of what is billed as The #1 2015 Best of Las Vegas Musical (it probably is). This show has made the rounds here in Las Vegas for well over a decade now, as it began its original residency at The Venetian, and is now firmly planted at Le Theatre des Arts at Paris Las Vegas (nothing screams French like an Italian musical).
This story follows the trials and tribulations of four rough-and-tumble “boys” (American Italian Stallions have you) from New Jersey as they become the biggest musical act in the world in this heartwarming, engaging musical. The hit is based on the true story of Frankie Valli (not Vally) and The Four Seasons. The smash Broadway musical Jersey Boys combines comedy, drama, dancing and live music with some of the most enviable voices on the Las Vegas Strip.
As good as this performance was I couldn’t help myself from thinking what this musical would be like if you were to merge Franki Vally (sorry Valli) with the cast of the iconic MTV episodic drama; The Jersey Shore (now this I would pay in full to see). In fact, a revision to the show’s current billing would read:

Here’s the synopsis: The Meatballs take over the boardwalk and hold auditions to find a temporary party pal for Franki. Mike reveals to the roommates that he used to be a stripper and they coax him into showing his stuff. Well, a girl can dream now can’t she?
Better yet, imagine Ronnie Ortiz-Mango, Vinnie Guadagnino, Mike ‘The Situation’ ,and Paul ‘Pauly D’ DelVecchio cast in the lead roles as the Four Seasons in the ‘60s, as the story follows the up-and-down lives of four blue collar boys and their rise to fame, captivating the public with hits such as “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” “Sherry” and “Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You.” Their rise to glory isn’t without turmoil, fights, jealousy, and sacrificed personal relationships. The men ultimately take part in that East Coast rite of passage: The Share House. Our cast members come together for the summer to live and work in Seaside Heights. So get ready to GTL, smush and Jersey turnpike… it’s Jersey Shore, b*tch! I can hear Off-Off-Broadway calling now!
Seriously, Jersey Boys, truly is jaw-dropping entertainment.
