The Vegas Residency Has Gotten FABULOUS!

Spring is here and with it comes pool season (FINALLY!) and a slew of new Las Vegas residencies! Among other things, of course, but as a DMC we like to focus on what’s most exciting for our clients!

The whole concept of the “Las Vegas residency” has changed a lot in recent years, thanks to the wildly successful run of Britney Spears’s Piece of Me residency at Planet Hollywood. Residencies are no longer all Celine Dion and Donnie & Marie—in fact, both of those long-running residencies are closing this year. *sad trombone*

The new Las Vegas residency is shorter—a few days a week here and there for just a few months rather than a years-long near-nightly commitment—and the artists are a bit more, shall we say, “of the moment.” We’ve got major-labor recording artists who are still topping charts and scooping up awards, in addition to a plethora of established long-time favorites. Yep: the Vegas residency is now cool, and there is no other city in the world where you can pick from half a dozen legendary musicians in a given week!

At Destination Fabulous, we can plan the perfect package for your group that includes the hottest residencies in town—just take a look at the list below and let us know who you want to see! As Las Vegas event planners, we will make sure you live your best Las Vegas life while you’re here.

Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga’s dual residency—Enigma, a candy-colored pop odyssey covering all her massive dance hits, and Jazz & Piano, highlighting her extraordinary skills as both singer and songwriter as just a girl with her piano—stormed onto the stage at the Park Theater right before the start of the new year and brought 2019 in with a Fame bang! Dates run through November 2019; Jazz & Piano engagements are extremely limited but don’t worry—she plays “Shallow” during Enigma, too.

Janet JacksonJanet Jackson—Miss Jackson if you’re nasty—is a multi-platinum, multi-Grammy-winning global music icon, and beginning May 17, she will transform the Park Theater with her Metamorphosis residency. This is a deeply personal show for Jackson, peeling back the layers of her private life from a young girl with self-esteem issues to one of the biggest pop stars in the world. In addition to her mega-hits, fan favorites, and deep cuts, this is also a celebration of the 30-year anniversary of the groundbreaking Rhythm NationMetamorphosis runs through August.

Christina Aguilera
The real voice of The Voice will bring her unmatched powerhouse vocals to the Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino with her residency, Christina Aguilera: The Xperience, starting May 31, 2019. When she first burst on the scene in the late-‘90s during a new pop renaissance ushered in by boy bands, it was Aguilera’s incredible voice that set her apart from all the other female pop stars. This show runs through September.

Lady Antebellum
Lady Antebellum’s Our Kind of Vegas residency at the Pearl Concert Theatre inside the Palms Casino Resort is the first country act to headline this venue. Bringing a bit of Nashville to Vegas, Lady A’s residency combines high production value with intimate, stripped-down performances. This show is going on now through August 2019.

Pitbull
Mr. Worldwide has been selling out limited residencies in Las Vegas since 2016, and his most recent run—Time of Our Lives at the Zappos Theatre inside Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino—will come to an end in May, 2019. But, as Pitbull himself once said, “Don’t Stop the Party!” (He’ll probably be back.)

Bruno Mars
The eleven-time Grammy winner, and one of the best-selling artists of all time is once again bringing his brand of “Uptown Funk” to Las Vegas, this time at the Park Theater at the Park MGM with show dates in April, May, and September 2019. Don’t believe me, just watch!

The Eagles
For the first time ever, the Eagles will perform their iconic album Hotel California in its entirety along with an additional set of the band’s greatest hits on two nights only: September 27 and 28, 2019 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. A mini-residency of mini-residencies at just two nights, it could be described as simply a “concert,” but as the band’s only North American performances of 2019 and the only time they have ever played this full album, this is a truly unique Las Vegas experience!

Celine Dion
After more than 15 years performing on the Strip, the grand dame of the Las Vegas residency will end her reign at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace Las Vegas. And while this does indeed mark the end of an era in Las Vegas entertainment, we are confident that our hearts will go on! Catch her now through June 8, 2019.

Florida Georgia Line
Florida Georgia Line is coming back to Vegas this November with a run of four shows at the Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. Fans can expect all their number one hits, including their 11-time platinum breakout “Cruise,” “Meant to Be” with Bebe Rexha—an iHeartRadio Titanium Award winner for reaching one billion total audience plays in 2018, “H.O.L.Y.,” “May We All” (with Tim McGraw), and “God, Your Mama, And Me” (with Backstreet Boys), as well as newer hits from their most recent album.

Diana Ross
One of the truest divas who has ever lived, the incomparable Diana Ross returns to the Encore Theatre at the Wynn this June celebrating her “75th Birthday Diamond Jubilee” with an all-new show. Ms. Ross is known as one of the greatest entertainers in the world and has received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award as well as an induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Get ready to see and hear her shine like the disco queen she is!

Aerosmith
America’s top-selling rock and roll band of all time has brought their own residency to the Park Theatre at Park MGM: Aerosmith: Deuces are Wild. This immersive show features state-of-the-art audio and video technology with never-before-seen visuals and audio from the band’s past recording sessions. Dates have been extended into December 2019 due to popular demand.

Backstreet Boys
Backstreet’s back, alright!!! (That line never really made sense when they were a brand-new band just coming on the scene, but it definitely works now!) If you want to see the Boys in their Larger Than Life residency at the Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, you only have until April 19, 2019! Although I would guess this isn’t all they have to give, at least in terms of residencies…

Anita Baker
Anita Baker is bidding adieu to the life of the performer and will play five nights in May and June 2019 at the Venetian Theatre inside the Venetian Resort Las Vegas as part of this farewell concert series. The R&B legend and eight-time Grammy-winning singer and songwriter will perform hits from her decades-spanning career including, “Caught Up in the Rapture,” “Sweet Love” and “Giving You the Best That I Got.”

Def Leppard
Get ready to get rocked with Def Leppard Hits Vegas: The Sin City Residency at the Zappos Theater inside Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino this summer! The show runs in August and September and will highlight all the glam rockers’ greatest hits from their 100 million albums sold worldwide: “Hysteria,” “Animal,” “Armageddon It,” “Rock of Ages,” and, of course, “Pour Some Sugar on Me.”

Robbie Williams
This June and July, the U.K.’s top-selling British solo artist, with over 75 million albums sold worldwide, comes to the Encore Theatre at the Wynn with Robbie Williams: Live in Las Vegas. Fresh off a two-year run of sold-out stadium tours, fans will thrill to see Williams in this intimate venue.

Billy Idol
If it’s a nice day for a white wedding it’s probably also a nice day for a Vegas wedding followed by Billy Idol at the Pearl Concert Theatre inside the Palms Casino Resort! Get ready to give a “Rebel Yell” this October, and don’t be afraid to dance with yourself…or rock the cradle of love! LOLOLOL okay, I’ll stop now!

Steely Dan
Steely Dan returns to Las Vegas with a nine-night engagement at the Venetian Theatre inside the Venetian Resort Las Vegas. Reelin’ in the Chips 2 is another greatest-hits set from the band’s extensive catalogue that helped define the sound of the ‘70s and sold more than 40 million albums.

Don’t wait to grab tickets to anyone of these fab shows! You’ll thank me later.

Cheers!
